SWaCH Rally

The team attended a SWaCH rally in a slum area of Pune. The team took part in the march which was calling for households to separate their waste, met with pickers and held informal interviews with team about their role and conditions and met with leaders of SWaCH to discuss their work and ways in which their work could be more effective. A key point was the issue of pricing and pay. If the pickers could be paid to collect a specific material and then be paid directly for it i.e. the films it could help to make it more worthwhile for them and give an incentive for collection films for the programme.
